What the customer wanted
- Protect kids in the second and third rows from UV exposure
- Cool the back rows, which never matched the front
- Stay legal on the front doors
How we approached it
Parents almost always come to us for the UV rather than the heat. The back rows of a three-row SUV have enormous glass area and the least airflow, and a car seat parked in direct sun is a real exposure problem.
Ceramic film handles both concerns at once. The UV block is essentially total, and the infrared rejection is what finally lets the rear air conditioning keep up.
Results
- Ceramic film blocking over 99% of UVA and UVB on every window
- Third row is finally usable on summer afternoons
- Front doors cut to a legal Texas VLT
